Public consultation "National strategy for environmental education 2020 (ENEA 2020)"
23 May 2017

In the public consultation on the "National Strategy for Environmental Education 2020 (ENEA 2020)", the BCSD is of the opinion that the name of the strategy should be changed to "National Strategy for Education for Sustainable Development", so that the scope of the strategy is immediately clear. The BCSD argues that the issues of the environment and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) - in particular climate change, the circular economy and ecosystem services - need to be introduced into the context of the economy and business management, in order to promote the emergence of sustainable business models, economic models that incorporate environmental issues into macroeconomic and fiscal policies. In particular, climate change, the circular economy and ecosystem services. The BCSD suggests that the new strategy should also refer to UNESCO's Roadmap for sustainable education, using it as inspiration for the measures to be developed.

Previously, in terms of education, the BCSD had also contributed to the public consultationson the"Profile of Pupils Leaving Compulsory Schooling" and the "Road to a national environmental education strategy 2020".
